Some exciting updates and a welcome for suggestions!
Originally an email to folks I’ve been in contact with regarding my project – to help people enter the Learning & Development (L&D) field – this post shares exciting updates about where things stand and a welcome for thoughts on what we should share in future updates.
But first, a little background
- In 2022, I began a project to understand how people in the L&D industry got started and how I might be able to leverage my professional experience and network to help others. Interview insights and survey responses from dozens of industry professionals played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the project.
- By early 2023, with my colleague John Ventresca (now Co-Founder) and the team at NextCorps, we welcomed our first group of participants. Together, we learned how best to support their needs, refining our approach to align with what they were looking for. We’re proud to share several of them have secured new roles or earned promotions in the field.
- This year, we received a generous grant allowing us to transform the program from a simple website and spreadsheet into a dynamic online platform where participants can engage, learn, and grow. One of our key additions has been the introduction of Expert Advisors – seasoned professionals who provide personalized guidance to participants throughout the program. Their support has been pivotal in preparing our participants for successful career transitions.
Program Updates
Since launching our platform, we’ve been focused on enhancing the participant experience. We’ve introduced new features, including a more intuitive interface, additional resources, and personalized support. However, we feel like we’re just getting started and have some exciting plans for 2025.
Our Roadmap includes:
- Real-time, content-specific response to Participant inquiries (using LLMs)
- Participant content rating capabilities
- Localized experience for Spanish-speaking participants
- Continuing to build relationships with Hiring/HR managers
Our goal is to simplify and accelerate career transitions for our Participants
